I am home resting my back. I strained it a couple weeks ago and it has been getting worse. My doctor gave me some steroids and instructions to stay in and off it for the bulk of the weekend. He recommended getting a couple seasons of a TV show to watch. The show he recommended? Weeds. I don't know why I find that kind of weird.
I saw an ad for the new 90210 series and the guy who played Michael Lee on the The Wire is in it. It would be awesome if he were playing a continuation of his character from the Wire, but I suspect that's not going to be the case.
I can't say I know much about Sarah Palin, but on the surface, it seems a brilliant move. Hopefully people will see right through a blatant attempt to get Hillary's potential votes. But Palin also has a son being deployed to Iraq in a couple weeks (on 9/11 no less), which will no doubt play well.
Things I was going to do but now will not be because of my back:
Wild Weekend Power Pop Festival - The only chance I will probably ever have to see The Boys, who haven't played in America since 1982.
Cypress Valley Canopy Tour - We were supposed to go next weekend but I postponed the reservation.
I am still going to a friend's birthday party this weekend, though, back be damned!
Fun Fun Fun Fest is looking pretty good this year. Bad Brains, All, Flipper, Adolescents, Dead Milkmen, Swingin' Utters, Scared of Chaka, Dan Deacon, Kool Keith, The National, etc, etc, etc. Getting my ticket as soon as I get paid.
